Have you ever been working a group of Mallards and say to yourself, " I wish I had some movement in the decoys" as the Mallards fly on? Or, "I wish I could get those high flying birds to give us a closer look". The Flyway Feeder decoy is a confidence decoy that does just that. The splash of the water can be seen by ducks way off in the distance similar to the way the first spinning wing decoy attracted long range birds. The Flyway Feeder also provides plenty of ripple in the decoy spread as the ducks are working in close.
Example of extreme splash
Tips and Techniques:
1. Place a Flyway Feeder near other decoys to make them all appear to be moving.
2. Add another Flyway Feeder to an existing one by simply plugging the wire in to the end of the wire that the first Flyway Feeder is on. This will allow you to get your feeder further from your blind or pit and will allow you to move your motion to another part of your decoys. Only 3 Flyway Feeders should be used on one flasher switch.
3. I set the discharge hose so the water sprays out of the water unrealistically. On a sunny day, this will pull ducks toward you because they can see the splash. When the ducks are in close, disconnect the Flyway Feeder from the battery by either unclamping it from the battery. The ripples will still be there and you can turn it back on when the ducks aren't looking directly at it. I have had major success with this technique.
